Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or related science field and/or a minimum of two (2) years of related work experience is preferred. Must complete Demonstration of Capability (DOC) for field parameters, pH and chlorine, within three (3) months of hire. Familiarity with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and Virginia Health Department water and sewer compliance regulations, and knowledge of Hazardous Material and Hazardous Materials Communications regulations is preferred.
Required skills: Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, and read in English to understand directions and procedures. Must be familiar with computer functions and able to utilize Microsoft Office programs. Understand advanced mathematics. Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment is preferred. Ability to multi-task and react to changing business needs effectively and efficiently to meet required deadlines. Must exhibit a positive attitude to effectively deal with the public, visitors, co-workers, industrial clients, local government and agency officials. Must perform job functions in an ethical manner. Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Must have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and maintain accurate, neat, and timely records and reports.
