Work for Water is a joint committee of VWEA and VA AWWA whose goal is to enhance the visibility and image of a career in the water and wastewater sector. The committee members contact school districts throughout Virginia to identify career education staff and determine their current schedule of career exploration programs.  Once identified, the committee participates in elementary, middle and high school career fairs, makes presentations to career counselors, and provides resource materials about careers in the water/wastewater industry.  Future activities include exploration of Workforce Center career fairs, summer youth programs, year-long programs, and apprenticeship programs throughout the state.
