This award recognizes a Young Professional who, through individual effort, has made significant contributions to VA AWWA. The VA AWWA YP Trustee will select the award recipient from among the nominations received from the Section members. Please consider nominating an outstanding YP by completing the nominations form below no later than May 31st.
Purpose of the Award
The award recognizes the significant contributions of a VA AWWA Young Professional member and encourages and inspires other young professionals to become actively engaged in VA AWWA.
Nominee Eligibility Requirements
- Hold an individual membership in AWWA or be employed by a Utility or Service Provider member
- Be 35 years of age or under
- Has served in the Virginia Section through volunteer work, committee work, leadership activities, and/or paper presentations.
- Nominations should not be based on longevity but built on outstanding contributions to the Virginia Section.
Nominating Process
Any member of the Virginia Section or any employee of an organization/department may make a nomination for this award. Nominations should be submitted below.
Method of Selecting Award Recipient
All nominations shall be online and shall indicate the nominee’s qualifications. The Section Executive Director will forward all nominations to the VA AWWA YP Trustee for review and evaluation. With input from the Board of Trustees, the YP Trustee will select an awardee. Only one selection for an award will be made annually, and only if a qualified recipient exists.
