The Utah State University is looking for Utilities to take part in their most recent survey. The Buried Structures Laboratory at Utah State University (USU) conducted comprehensive surveys of water mains across the U.S. and Canada in 2011 and 2017, but it is time to update the data. The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) was created by Congress to offer financial assistance for water system capital improvements and technical assistance. This along with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law assists waterworks and offers low-interest loans. The Office of Drinking Water is currently accepting applications for both the FY 2023 DWSRF and FY 2022 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The closing dates to have the applications completed and returned is April 8, 2022, for BIL funding and May 6, 2022, for SRF funding.

EPA announced a new Request for Application (RFA) for Reducing Lead in Drinking Water. The $20 million in available grant funding will assist communities and schools with removing sources of lead in drinking water. The funding consists of $10 million for projects to conduct lead service line replacements or implement corrosion control improvements and $10 million for projects that remove sources of lead in drinking water in schools or childcare facilities. This WIIN grant will be completed through the RFA process and will be open until April 19 at www.grants.gov. Links of interest include:
For more than 40 years the American Water Works Association and its members have celebrated Drinking Water Week – a unique opportunity for both water professionals and the communities they serve to recognize the vital role water plays in our daily lives. For the 2022 celebration, the VA AWWA Water Awareness and Outreach Committee is creating a toolkit for Virginia utilities. The toolkit included logos and banners, social media posts with graphics, press release templates, children’s activities, and ideas for employee appreciation and celebration.
