Imagine a Day Without Water is a national education campaign that brings together diverse stakeholders to highlight how water is essential, invaluable, and in need of investment. This year, the day of action will take place on October 21, 2021, and will include events, resolutions, student contests, social media engagement, and more, all across the country.

If you are willing, please share a photo or video of your organization providing the most essential service, water! These can be photos or videos from the field, on job sites, operators and engineers at work…anything related to the water world! VDEM Announces Application Deadlines for FY 21 BRIC and FMA with Focus on Equitable Mitigation
FEMA has announced the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for FY 21 BRIC and FMA, which includes $1.16B in funding for these nationally competitive programs. VDEM is currently accepting pre-applications/applications for these funding cycles. Please note that VDEM’s application timeline is different from FEMA’s as VDEM builds in time to provide technical assistance such as benefit-cost analysis, as well as a stakeholder-driven peer review process mentioned above. VDEM is also accepting applications through the HMGP for FEMA-DR-VA-4602, which is the February 2021 Ice Storm. HMGP funding through DR-4602 is expected to be approximately $3.7M. FY21 BRIC and FMA NOFO and Webinar Offerings

Supply Chain Disruption Survey

WaterISAC encourages utilities to report supply chain disruptions in a new survey.

Members of the Water and Wastewater Sector:

WaterISAC has developed a survey for utilities to report supply disruptions they've experienced as part of an effort to further understand issues as they emerge nationwide. One ongoing issue is with liquid oxygen (LOX). WaterISAC received reports of water utilities being impacted by LOX disruptions beginning in the summer. Based on recent reports, the issue is continuing and potentially affecting more areas. The survey also provides the opportunity to report other supply chain disruptions, which could involve other chemicals, electronics, etc.
