The Waynesboro Public Works Department is seeking a plant operator for the Water Treatment Plant. The qualified applicant shall daily operate the water facility and equipment used to collect, treat, and disinfect drinking water safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilities shall be to monitor operations to determine the efficiency and quality of plant operations.
Thorough knowledge of principles and techniques of water utility installation, operations, repairs, meter readings; and overall functions of water treatment and distribution systems; mechanical and electrical skills required and ability to make needed repairs to operating system.
HS diploma or equivalent; knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs to include Word, Excel; Requires Class IV or higher water works certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment. Some shift and weekend work required. Requires valid driver's license.
Salary $15.19/HR - $17.79/HR DOE. Open until filled. EOE
