The Town of Leesburg is seeking an entry-level or journey-level Wastewater Plant Operator within its Water Pollution Control Division (WPCD) for the Department of Utilities. The WPCD is responsible for the safe and efficient treatment of wastewater generated within the Leesburg service area and the subsequent stabilization and disposal of the solid wastes produced to ensure the protection of public health and the environment.

What You'll Be Doing
This position involves hands-on technical work in the operation, maintenance and cleaning of the wastewater treatment plant and other related facilities and equipment. Work involves reading and recording gauges, instruments, and meters; regulating valves; drawing samples; maintaining accurate records; performing tests; and maintaining plant facilities, equipment and grounds; and other manual labor work.  
 
Minimum Qualifications
HS/GED; ability to obtain a Class IV Wastewater Operator License within 18 months of employment; ability to obtain a Class III Wastewater Operator License within three and a half (3.5) years of employment; possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record; certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment; knowledge in MS Suite applications and computer program applications appropriate to the position; available and able to work rotating shifts (days/nights), when needed; including working weekends and holidays.
 
Schedule
The facility operates 24/7/365. This position may require working rotating shifts (day/nights), and includes working weekends and holidays.
