Senior Plant Mechanic/Instrumentation and Controls Technician
 

The Town of Culpeper’s Environmental Services Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Senior Plant Mechanic/Instrument & Controls Technician.  The successful candidate will perform difficult skilled work in the maintenance and repair of specialized machinery and equipment in a water or wastewater treatment plant and related facilities; perform difficult work in the installation, calibration, repair and maintenance or all electronic instrumentation, including SCADA systems, various meters, flow totalizers, electronic receivers, electronic controllers and converters, and electronic circuit boards; and perform other duties as assigned.  Candidate must have thorough knowledge standard practices, methods, tools and materials of the electric and mechanical trades; general knowledge of the occupational hazards connected with general maintenance operations and ability to take and enforce appropriate safety precautions; ability to work from sketches, blue prints, wiring schematics, and equipment manuals and to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; skill in the use and care of bench and hand tools, machines and equipment; and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in water and/or wastewater treatment plant maintenance work.
