Chesterfield County’s Utilities Department is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform multiple laboratory tests in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to meet wastewater treatment plant operational needs and federal and state regulations; i.e., pH, settle abilities, suspended solids, CBOD, volatile acids, alkalinities, total solids, nitrogen, phosphate, E. coli, fecal coliform, etc. Cleaning of laboratory glassware to avoid contamination and cleaning/minor maintenance of laboratory equipment. Recording/reporting all laboratory results on bench sheets and entering data into database. Perform other work as required. (Must be available for occasional holiday work.)

Successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field and one year of experience in a laboratory environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates may be considered without a science degree if they have background in appropriate scientific fields (for example, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, life/medical/physical sciences).
