- Administrative: Updates work orders in UOSA’s CMMS and uses other computer applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); Coordinate with other sections and divisions as required.
- Maintenance Activities: Performs, maintenance, installations, and repairs of various field equipment including, but is not limited to, process instrumentation such as pH, ORP, DO and temperature instruments, some lab instrumentation such as pH & spectrophotometers, electronic equipment, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration units, communications equipment including telephone, telemetry, and two-way radios, computer systems such as PLCs, loop controllers and a large distributed control system, gas detection equipment, pneumatic and electronic controllers, level measuring devices, flow measurement equipment, chart recorders;
- Tools and Equipment: Uses various tools to perform maintenance tasks using specialized tools; May operate a carry deck crane, aerial platform lift, and a forklift.
- Safety: Practices proper safety procedures; Performs work in confined spaces as requested.

- Administrative: Uses computer applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and tablets; Keeps adequate records of work activities; As assigned, performs non-technical duties (housekeeping etc.) with less supervision.
- Maintenance Activities: Assists other technicians with the maintenance, installations, and repairs of various field equipment including, but is not limited to, process instrumentation such as pH, ORP, DO and temperature instruments, some lab instrumentation such as pH & spectrophotometers, electronic equipment, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration units, communications equipment including telephone, telemetry, and two-way radios, computer systems such as PLCs, loop controllers and a large distributed control system, gas detection equipment, pneumatic and electronic controllers, level measuring devices, flow measurement equipment, chart recorders;
- Tools and Equipment: Learns to use various tools to perform maintenance tasks; Learns to use a carry deck crane, aerial platform lift, and a forklift.

- Must be honest, helpful, respectful, courteous, patient, reliable, creative, organized, and have a sense of humor.

- Must have basic computer and tablet skills. Good skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) are desirable.

Acceptable Education, Training & Experience:
- Completion of high school or a GED and a minimum of 4 years of industrial instrumentation, computers, controls, HVAC, or communications systems experience is required; Two-year relevant vocational school or college training is desired; Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent for the position will be considered. The position has minimum experience and education qualifications requirements. You may substitute years of professional work and relevant education for the minimum qualifications.
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of a vehicle operator's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
- Required to be on call when scheduled and must be able to work overtime as required to meet the needs of the plant and collection system.
