What would a typical day on the job be like — what work would I do?
Do you have a talent for seeing the big picture? Do you enjoy long and short term planning and providing direction on technical policies and procedures? Well, then this is the position for you!
 
The Asset Management Manager is responsible for planning, developing, imitating and evaluating departmental priorities, goals, long range objectives and internal operating procedures and policies specifically related to asset management.  The range of responsibility and job duties for the position is broad, and will require experience in the field.
 
In this position, you will be the expert in departmental technology and enterprise infrastructure asset management systems!  This will require coordination, analysis of cost and benefit of all systems, and implementation to maximize the effectiveness of the department.  This position will require the ideal candidate to be immersed in all aspects of asset management, including establishing and directing the maintenance and installation of new technology, and managing projects until completion. The Asset Management Manager opportunity will be a fast paced position, but will also be rewarding as you make an impact on the department’s Asset Management operations!
 
Supervision over the Asset Management team is a critical piece of this position, as the Manager will oversee and train the team as dictated by system implementations and upgrades occur.
 
How much money can I make?
The salary range for this career track is $49k-$85k, and is competitive based on qualifications and experience. In addition to salary, the City offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to meet all of our employee’s needs!

This position has the opportunity for promotion and lateral movement within the Waterworks department and other departments within the City! You will have the opportunity to interact with Management, City departments, and other internal and external stakeholders. This position will require continuous learning and professional development, as the position will require research, review of special projects, and keeping up to date on statewide policies, practices, legislative, regulator, and policy developments.
 
What are the qualifications for this position?
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Asset Management or a closely related field with 5-7 years of progressively related experience with 2-3 years of supervisory and management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
An acceptable general background check to include a local and state criminal history check, and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record will also be required for the position.
