The day will begin with a networking breakfast at 9:00 AM, followed by the official start of Summit programming at 10:00 AM. The Summit will conclude at 5:00 PM, with an optional after-hours networking event starting at 5:30 PM.
Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided throughout the day.
Planned Sessions
• Building Meaningful Mentor Relationships: A panel discussion featuring industry leaders Rusty Nigro (Hazen & Sawyer), Jen Cobb (City of Newport News), Matt Wisniewski (GFT), and Jeremy Harrison (Crowder Construction). Panelists will share their mentorship journeys, offer practical tips for building meaningful professional relationships, and discuss how mentorship can shape career growth.
• Town Hall Simulation: Participants will take part in an interactive mock town hall scenario involving municipal leadership, operations staff, engineers, and community members. This session will provide hands-on experience navigating real-world challenges and stakeholder perspectives.
• Resiliency in Times of Crisis: Bentley Chan, Director of Public Utilities for Henrico County, will discuss experiences handling difficult challenges and the lessons learned along the way. This session will explore how to remain resilient, make sound decisions under pressure, and develop the confidence needed to navigate adversity while continuing to grow as a professional.
• Water Circuit Challenge: A fast-paced, sector-specific experiential learning activity covering topics from operations and communications to emerging technologies.
