Senior Advisory

The Senior Advisory Committee encompasses three subcommittees, with functions and duties as follows:

  • Heroism: The Heroism Subcommittee is responsible for recognizing acts of heroism by water industry employees. The subcommittee administers the Section Heroism Award. If you know a hero whom you would like to nominate for an award, please contact the subcommittee chair (see contact info at right).
  • Historical: The Historical Subcommittee is charged with maintaining and preserving Section records, documents, and photographs—an important task, since VA AWWA’s rich history dates back to 1933!
  • Retiree: The Retiree Subcommittee is tasked with ensuring the continued involvement of retired VA AWWA members. Examples of duties assigned to the Retiree Subcommittee include contributing updates on retiree activities to the Newsletter and organizing functions or events for retirees.

The Committee may also be asked to develop appropriate resolutions, as required, and resolve questions of protocol that may arise.
