To all Student Chapters of VWEA and VA AWWA and any other interested, motivated students:
The VWEA/VA AWWA Student Activities Committee is pleased to announce the 2012 Student Design Competition! The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students of Virginia universities. It will be a great opportunity for students to get firsthand experience of working on a real world project. This year’s problem is developing a wastewater treatment plan for an actual medical center in Haiti: students have the opportunity to really help some who are less fortunate while developing their own engineering knowledge and experience! (Not to mention that first prize is $1,200 and a travel stipend to attend WEFTEC in September in New Orleans!)
The Competition will be held in conjunction with the VWEA Education Conference on May 16th and 17th in Richmond, Virginia. The Competition itself will be held on the morning of May 17th (time to be determined based on amount of teams).
