Do you ever worry you won't have what you really need to respond to a water or wastewater emergency? Maybe you'll need trained water operators, engineers, water quality specialists, or supplies such as specific valves, chemicals, testing devices and equipment. To learn how to be more prepared and access resources outside of your utility, please join us for this FREE training event.
The Virginia Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (VA WARN) is a network of "utilities helping utilities." This network helps water and wastewater utilities locate emergency assistance in the form of personnel, equipment, materials and other services. VA WARN is proudly hosting a FREE event that includes an emergency response seminar and a tabletop exercise (TTX). More information about VA WARN is available at http://www.vawarn.org.
Emergency Response Seminar and TTX Description: The event will consist of seminar presentations covering topics related to VA WARN, as well as water and wastewater incident preparedness and response. The afternoon TTX, based on a hypothetical scenario, is designed to bring together water, wastewater, public safety, local and state agencies to discuss roles and responsibilities during an incident. This seminar and TTX is open to member and non-member utilities, as well as private sector response partners that are interested in learning more about VA WARN. Utilities are encouraged to invite response partner representatives (e.g., emergency management director, police chief, fire chief) to participate.
CEC/CPE Training Credits: Engineers will earn 6 CEC contact hours, water and wastewater operators will ear 6 CPE contact hours.
