Procedures for Providing CPE Credits at Seminars, Workshops, etc.
1 – Develop technical program.
2 – Committee Chair or designated committee member must contact
the Education Committee Chair or other person designated to handle
CPE Credits.
3 – The person referenced above will review the program and determine
which papers meet the criteria required by the VA Dept. of Professional
& Occupational Regulations.
4 – Advertise the number of CPE credits to be given in the registration
information.
5 – At the end of pre-registration, the Section Administrator
will provide a registration list to the Committee Chair or designated
committee member handling on-site registration.
In the event that the entire activity qualifies for CPE's:
1 – On the day of the activity, each person attending must
sign in on the registration list. Anyone registering on-site
should be added to the list (include all contact information)
and that person must also sign in.
2 – If certificates are prepared prior to the activity, each
person receiving a certificate at the end of the day should
initial the registration list. No certificate should be provided
if a person leaves early or does not sign in and initial as
required.
3 – If certificates are to be prepared after the activity,
each person requesting a certificate must initial the list at
the end of the day.
4 – The completed sign-in sheet must then be returned to the
Section Administrator who will record the CPE's in the Section's
database and prepare certificates, if needed.
In the event that only certain sessions qualify for CPE's:
1 – On the day of the activity, each person attending must
sign in on the registration list. Anyone registering on-site
should be added to the list (including all contact information)
and that person must also sign in.
2 – Each person attending a qualified session must sign in
at the beginning of the session and initial at the end of the
session.
3 – Certificates for this activity will be issued after the
activity.
4 – The completed sign-in sheets must be returned to the Section
Administrator who will compile the total CPE's for each person,
record them in the Section's database and prepare certificates.
