For People/Water Reach Committee
Mission:
To ensure safe drinking water and proper sanitation to developing
nations and to communities throughout Virginia .
Membership :
This is a joint committee that is affiliated with Water For
People, which is headquartered in Denver , Colorado . As such,
members must be members of either VA AWWA or VWEA . The committee
will consist of a chairperson and a least 1 vice-chairperson
appointed by the VA AWWA Chair and the VWEA President for a
term of 12 months, as well as other members that are commended
by the committee chair.

Chair-Elect
Water For People Objectives: To raise awareness and provide financial
support to water and sanitation projects in developing countries.
Goals:
- Raise awareness and financial support through annual Herb
Evans memorial golf tournament, normally held in April.
- Raise awareness and financial support through annual Silent
Auction to be held at AWWA conference or Joint conference.
- Participate in Work Place Giving programs to support WFP.
- Raise awareness to businesses, member organizations, and
children by sharing the WFP message through presentations.
- Select WFP projects to be sponsored by the committee.
- Attend annual WFP workshop with 1 to 2 people.
Water Reach Objectives: To provide educational, technical and
limited financial assistance through our volunteer professionals
for Virginia residents lacking safe drinking water and proper
sanitation.
Goals:
- Assist small, low income communities in completing projects
that accomplish the above objectives.
- Provide awareness to the community about water and sanitation
issues in Virginia .
