Committee
Objective:
To develop and maintain the website to ensure that it serves
as a valuable and current resource for information about the
Section and its activities.
Membership:
The Chair of this committee is appointed by the VA Section
board of Trustees and is also the Website Editor. Other committee
members are recommended by the Chair of the committee and approved
by the VA Section chair.
Member of:
Education and Public Affairs Council
Duties:
Duties of the Chair are as follows:
a. Select a committee of VA Section members who are
willing to serve in the committee. In the selection process,
consideration should be given to geographic distribution and
employment (e.g., large or small utility, consultant, etc.)
of the committee members to assure variation in points of view
and ability to suggest and gather website content.
b. Collect and post website content in a timely manner.
Website content includes, but is not limited to, news stories,
announcements, event information, and photographs. Maintain
the on-line calendar of events.
c. In consultation with the Information Technology Committee,
plan, coordinate, and implement major improvements to the website,
as required.
d. Maintain Editor's records, including website-posting
procedures, website archives, and records pertaining to major
website improvements.
e. Adhere to guidelines set forth in the general
policies for committees (Section IIIA of the Handbook).
Duties of the committee members
are as follows:
a. Assist the committee chair with developing, collecting,
and posting website content, including articles and photographs.
b. Participate in website planning meetings and help
identify potential website improvements.
c. Keep abreast of Section news and events and report
them as soon as possible to the committee chair.
d. Serve as liaisons to other Section committees.
e. Assist the committee chair on specific assignments,
as required.
