Water Resources & Environment Committee


Objective:

To promote an awareness of water resources development, protection and stewardship within the Commonwealth.

Membership:

The Chair of this committee is appointed by the Board of Trustees. Other members are recommended by the Chair of the committee and approved by the VA Section Chair.

Member of:

Technical and Standards Council

Duties:

     The following duties are assigned to the committee chair:

a.   Select a committee comprised of VA Section members to serve on the  committee.

b.   Personally contact each committee member to verify that he/she will serve on

  the committee.

c.   Provide pertinent information to the Newsletter Editor for inclusion in the Newsletter.

d.   Adhere to guidelines set forth in the general policies for committees (Section IIIA of the Handbook).

     The following duties are assigned to the committee:

a.   Promote the exchange of information on water resource issues between utilities, industries, local and state governmental agencies, academic institutions, and consulting firms.

b.   Encourage dissemination of experiences in resolving water resource problems through publications and presentations.
