& Representatives Committee
Objective:
The primary mission of this committee is to provide support
to VA AWWA and VWEA educational programs by planning, coordinating
and implementing the exhibitor programs at the Annual Meetings
and other specialty seminars to maximize educational value for
attendees and provide a source of revenues to help pay for the
meetings. The committee also provides technical resources to
VA AWWA and VWEA such as speakers specializing in particular
process and equipment technologies for seminars and training
sessions. The MARC also acts a liaison to bring issues of concern
from its manufacturer and representative members to the Boards,
and to communicate Board policies to its members, as well as
coordinating with the national MAC and MARC committees of AWWA
and WEF respectively.
Membership:
The Manufacturer's and Representative's Committee, a Joint
Committee of VA AWWA and VWEA , consists of members from equipment
manufacturers and manufacturer's representative sales agencies
involved in the water and wastewater industry in Virginia.

Duties:
In consultation with the respective meeting Chair appoints
a MARC Exhibits Coordinator for each VA AWWA or VWEA meeting
that has exhibits as part of the program, presently including
the individual association Annual Meetings, Water JAM, VWEA
Education Seminar, and VWEA Industrial Waste and Pre-Treatment
Seminar. The MARC Exhibits Coordinator is responsible
for working with the meeting program committee to provide the
following services:
1- Coordinate exhibits hall layout, electrical
service, sound system, exhibitor signs and exhibit hall
event planning with program committee, other committees
that have exhibit hall events, and the hotel staff.
2- Secure exhibit decorator to furnish pipe,
draperies, tables and chairs; coordinate execution
of contract for decorator services; coordinate set-up
and take-down of exhibit booths by the decorator at the
meeting.
3- Prepare and distribute exhibitor registration
package to prospective exhibitors; receive and process exhibitor
registrations; collect exhibitor fees and forward to administrator
with accounting of exhibitor registrations and attendees; coordinate
set-up and take-down of exhibitor displays at the meeting; interface
with the exhibitors.
4- Solicit exhibitor technical session papers;
coordinate with program committee and preside over exhibitor's
papers session.
5- Maintain comprehensive and current list
of past exhibitors and prospective new exhibitors; promote value
of exhibiting at VA AWWA and VWEA meetings to exhibitors; plan
and implement exhibitor programs that provide educational value
to meeting attendees and sales/marketing value to exhibiting
companies.
6- Provide financial support to the meetings
through implementation of a successful exhibitor program.
