| Laboratory
Practices
Objective:
To determine and address the laboratory-related concerns of
both AWWA and VWEA membership and to promote professionalism
in laboratory practices among laboratories.
Membership:
This is a joint committee. As such, members must be members
of either VA AWWA or VWEA . The committee will consist of a
chairperson and vice-chairperson appointed by the VA AWWA Chair
and the VWEA President for a term of 18 months, as well as other
members that are commended by the committee chair.

Duties:
a. Determine the laboratory-related needs and interests
in Virginia from member recommendations, surveys, and other
sources
b. Submit articles to the VA AWWA Newsletter, Conduit
( VWEA ), and MA Connection (WEF), regarding laboratory-related
training, workshops, activities, and issues.
c. Provide a forum for exchange and interaction
on laboratory-related issues.
d. Promote membership in the Associations. Welcome
new committee members into the Associations and provide assistance
as necessary.
e. Sponsor laboratory-related training and workshops
in the state and at the Annual Meetings, coordinating with other
committees.
f. Solicit papers for the Laboratory Practices
Committee technical session at the Annual Meetings.
g. Recommend a nominee for the Laboratory Analyst
Award sponsored by the VWEA /WEF.
h. Adhere to guidelines set forth in the general
policies for committees (Section III A of Handbook).
