Fuller Award Committee

Objective:

To nominate a qualified candidate from the VA Section for the Fuller Award.

Membership:

The committee shall consist of the five (5) most recent recipients of the Fuller Award, with the senior recipient of the Award acting as Chair of the committee. The Section Administrator shall purchase the Fuller Award recognition pin for the recipient. The pin, a gift of the VA Section to the Awardee, will be presented to the recipient at the Annual Awards Banquet by the VA Section Chair.

Member of:

Annual Meeting Council

Duties:

The committee duties are to nominate a qualified candidate from the VA Section for the Fuller Award, prepare a citation for the Awardee (limited to 40 words or less), and present a brief biographical outline of the recipient for use during the presentation ceremony for the Award. The identification of the Awardee shall remain confidential until such time as the Award is announced at the Annual Banquet.

Fuller Award Presentation Procedure:

     Prior to the Banquet

Fuller award Committee Chair provides VA Section Director with a sealed copy of the recipient's biographical write-up for delivery to the National Officer.

     At the Banquet

Chair of VA Section introduces the AWWA representative for the presentation. In the absence of the National Representative, the Chair of the Fuller Award Committee will read the biography.

Previous awardees come up to the front.

Committee Chair or a designated member of the committee begins walking around the room, supposedly looking for the recipient during the reading of biographical outline.

AWWA Representative reads biography. Towards the end of the reading, committee Chair or designee should be approximately behind the recipient. At the end of the reading, committee Chair escorts recipient up to the podium.

VA Section Chair pins the Fuller Award pin on the recipient.

After the pin presentation ceremony, the escort will lead the recipient to the left and down from the head table to shake hands with the previous award winners.

     After the Banquet

Fuller Award Committee Chair provides the recipient with a copy of the Biographical write-up, with copies to the Section Administrator and the Newsletter Editor.
