Water Quality Committee
Objective:
To promote an awareness of water quality issues and their importance
in satisfying the water demands of the Commonwealth.
Membership:
The Chair of this committee is appointed by the Board of Trustees.
Other committee members are recommended by the Chair of the
committee and approved by the VA Section Chair.
Member of:
Technical and Standards Council
Duties:
The following duties are assigned
to this committee Chair:
a. Select a committee comprised of VA Section members
to serve on the committee.
b. Personally contact each committee member to
verify that he/she will serve on the committee.
c. Provide pertinent information to the Newsletter
Editor for inclusion in the Newsletter.
d. Promote the exchange of information on water
quality issues between utilities, industries, Local and State
governmental agencies, academic institutions, and consulting
firms.
e. Encourage dissemination of experiences in resolving
water quality problems through publications and presentations.
f. Assist the water utility operators in assessing
water quality problems through publications, seminars, and short
school presentations.
g. Adhere to guidelines set forth in the general
policies for committees (Section IIIA of Handbook).
