Service Activities Committee
Objective:
To advance sound customer service practices among water utilities
of the VA Section of AWWA.
Membership:
The Chair of this committee is appointed by the VA Section
Board of Trustees. Other committee members are recommended by
the Chair of the committee and appointed by the VA Section Chair.
Member of:
Education and Public Affairs Council.
Duties:
The following duties are assigned
to the committee Chair:
a. Select a committee comprised of VA Section members
to serve on the committee.
b. Personally contact each committee member to
verify that he/she will serve on the committee.
c. Provide pertinent information to the Newsletter
Editor for inclusion in the newsletter.
d. Develop and sponsor at least one annual customer
service seminar directed at supervisory and management
level personnel.
e. Sponsor and promote a training program offered
by the community college system which is aimed at improving
the skills of first-line customer service personnel.
f. Promote the inclusion of customer service-related
topics at the annual meeting.
g. Encourage customer service personnel to join
AWWA and participate in programs offered by the VA Section.
h. Adhere to guidelines set forth in the general
policies for committees (Section III A of Handbook).
