Director
The Virginia Section By-Laws in Article VII, Section 7.9.5, states
that the Director shall represent the Virginia Section on the American
Water Works Association Board of Directors and shall act to coordinate
and unify their actions. The Director is the Virginia Section's
representative on the AWWA Board of Directors, the governing body
of AWWA. The Director is also a member of the Board of Trustees.
By representing each one of these bodies in the deliberations of
the other, he/she shall act to coordinate and unify their actions.
In addition, the Director shall:
1. Attend all meetings of the AWWA Board of Directors, taking
actions in accordance with the instructions received from the
Board of Trustees and where no instructions prevail shall take
action as, in his/her considered opinion, are in the best interests
of the Virginia Section members.
2. Attend all Board of Trustees meetings and the Virginia Section's
annual business meetings and give a formal written report on the
pertinent actions of the AWWA Board of Directors.
3. Be the Section's official host of the visiting AWWA officer
to the Virginia Section's annual meeting.
The Director's three-year term of office shall begin with the last
day of the annual AWWA conference following his election by the
Virginia Section and shall be completed during the annual AWWA conference
three years later. |
