Treasurer
The Virginia Section By-Laws in Article VII, Section 7.9.4, state
that the Treasurer shall collect all revenues of the Virginia Section;
pay all just bills against the Virginia Section; keep financial
records and report at the annual meeting on all receipts, expenditures,
and debts of the Virginia Section; maintain a complete record of
all its activities and transactions; and perform other duties as
may be assigned by the Board of Trustees. In addition to these duties
the Treasurer shall:
1. Handle all fiscal aspects of the Virginia Section,
including responsibility for all funds, filing of annual AWWA
allotment and fiscal reports.
2. Prepare a proposed budget for review and approval
by the Board of Trustees.
3. Promptly authorize the Section Administrator to
deposit all incoming funds promptly in depositories approved by
the Board of Trustees.
4. Promptly authorize the Section Administrator to
pay all bills contracted in accordance with expenses incurred
in accordance with the approved budget or those approved by the
Board of Trustees.
5. Present a financial report to the Board of Trustees
at each Board meeting and to the Virginia Section at the annual
business meeting.
6. Annually file appropriate local, state, and federal
tax forms.
7. Supervise the activities of the Section Administrator.
8. Serve as Chair of the Finance Committee.
9. Recommend an outside firm, coordinate supply of financial
documents, and report to the Board on the annual, external audit
of Section Finances. |
