Labor Foreman II
Henrico County, Virginia

Supervise and participate in the repair and maintenance of water mains, services, hydrants and related items. Responsible for the daily supervision of a crew of equipment operators. Receives daily work assignment from the Superintendent I. Completes both hand written and PC generated work orders for every job done. Uses a PC to look up data such as work orders and water maps using a GIS program. Uses a PC to complete annual performance appraisals. Performs related work as assigned.

This position requires a valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A. Required to work overtime in an on call rotation schedule for after hours emergencies. Also required to work overtime on an as needed daily basis to complete repairs that may run past the normal quitting time. The successful candidate will have experience using various pieces of heavy equipment related to utility construction and repair. Maintenance Director
Albemarle County Service Authority, Charlottesville, Virginia

Oversees the Maintenance Department of the ACSA in the installation, maintenance and repair of it's water/wastewater utility system. Develops annual budget projections and assists in the development of the Capital Improvement Program. Develops and implements a preventive maintenance program; Establishes and administers department rules, regulations and procedures in conformance with ACSA policies, federal, and state laws. Requires comprehensive knowledge of utility construction, maintenance and repair, including extensive knowledge of the methods, tools, and equipment used in such work. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the theory and practice of modern utility systems. Requires the ability to plan, supervise and direct the work of others, the ability to prepare and maintain detailed reports and records, including financial accounting, and the ability to prepare and interpret complex reports. Graduation from college with a degree in engineering or business administration required.

Water Treatment Plant Operator

Under the direction of the Water Treatment Plant Superintendent, assists in the operation of the Water Treatment Plant. Makes a variety of standardized and specialized tests on water samples from various locations within and outside plant. Performs general maintenance duties. Must be able to lift 50-65 lb. bags for insertion into bulk feeder hoppers. Class I operators supervise other operators and train new employees. High School diploma or GED and one to four years of experience in all facets of water plant operation required. Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and a current valid Virginia Class I, II or III Water Operator's License. Will consider underfill of Water Plant Operator Trainee. Non-competitive promotion potential to positions requiring higher level licenses upon completion of requirements under skill-based pay system. Rotating shift work / 12 hours shifts. Description: This person provides technical and design services in support of projects as part of a project team. Conduct technical evaluations projects. They prepare design computations and assessments. They produce design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents. They report directly to their Project Manager. Responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule. Communicate and coordinate technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports and correspondence with Project Manager and design team to complete work efficiently. Stays current with Local, State & Federal Design Standards and Regulations..

Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and Engineering Intern (EIT/ EI) Certification. Process-oriented individual with strong organization and technical skills. Solid communicator, able to take and understand directives from Project Manager and coordinate efforts with design team. Strong writing and verbal skills; Able to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying demands put on them by Project Managers. May or may not require a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.

This is a leadership position with the City of Norfolk Department of Utilities. Water Plant Operator
Washington County Service Authority, Abingdon, Virginia

The Washington County Service Authority (WCSA) is recruiting an individual to fill the position of Water Plant Operator .  The Water Plant Operator reports directly to the Water Production Manager, is responsible for helping operate, organize and participate in all the Water Production activities of WCSA including Distribution System monitoring.

WCSA serves approximately 20,000 water and 1,400 wastewater customers. The water system consists of approximately 900 miles of waterline, a 2.5 MGD membrane filtration plant, a 4.6 MGD conventional treatment plant, 2 springs, 1 well, multiple pump stations and 17 water storage tanks.

The position requires a Class 2 or higher Operators Licenses. A Class 3 Operators License may be considered if eligible to obtain a Class 2 License within six months. The successful candidate will have graduated from high school or obtained a GED and hold a valid driver's license.

The salary range is $30,000 to $42,000 annually DOQ with an excellent benefits package.  All employment offers are contingent on the successful completion of a post-offer physical, which includes drug testing as well as background and reference checks.
