Have
you ever wondered how VA AWWA is able to provide so many services
to its members and to the public? Each year, we hold numerous
educational and training events, on topics ranging from information
technology to laboratory practices to water resources.
We host the VA AWWA Annual Meeting which typically draws more
than 500 attendees and more than 50 exhibitors. We publish
a quarterly newsletter and this website, promote safe workplaces,
participate in the legislative and regulatory processes, support
drinking water research, and encourage student involvement.
We hold Top Ops and Utility Rodeo competitions that have produced
winners at the national level. We raise money and participate
in projects designed to provide safe drinking water to communities
in need. Each year, we do all of these things and more!
Our
ability to provide these services stems from the hard work
of
the many volunteers who serve on VA AWWA committees. VA
AWWA encourages all members to actively participate in Section
affairs, and this participation can best be accomplished by getting
involved with the work of our committees. Your contribution
of your time and talents to VA AWWA committees not only helps
the Section, it also helps you get the most out of your membership.
Active committee members have opportunities to gain a
valuable network of colleagues, stay informed of important news,
and develop
leadership and teamwork skills, all while furthering a cause
in which they believe.
We hope that you will explore this section to learn more about
our committees, their objectives, and how they are working to
make a difference. We also hope that you opt to get involved and
make a difference in VA AWWA. For information about each of our
committees, click on Standing
Committees, then click on the name of any committee. To volunteer
for a particular committee, just fill out our Willingness
to Serve Form. |
