Communications to remote facilities is critical to the operation of most modern water/wastewater utilities. Vertical facilities like tanks, pumps stations, vaults, and treatment plants need to have highly reliable and secure methods of communication with centralized monitoring locations ensuring high quality data, alerting, and visibility into process control, video, and access security systems. This telemetry can be the foundation for key technologies including asset management, business intelligence, site access and safety, and remote monitoring via SCADA. This can be a daunting project for complex organizations, but highly rewarding when done correctly.
Join the Technology Services Committee as Andy Krapf, Loudoun Water’s Director of Operations Technology, leads a roundtable discussion about this important subject and reveals some lessons learned from Loudoun’s recent upgrade project.
